You Are What You Try

I often hear the phrase "You are what you eat" and I think it's right. I also hear "You are what you buy" that also sounds nice. So maybe we could use this you-are-what format for some ideas.

As I wrote in the title, no matter how big you achived (or not), I still love an act of challenging something I am interested in. Mortorcycle, Karate, playing guitar in an amature rock band...well, not so great outcome, but I really enjoyed.

I like to listen things people are trying. Those tell a lot about them, don't they? What I've been trying to do is writing a novel with a new point of view. I know it is far from easy but will just give it a try. What are you trying to do?

Working Late From Monday

Tomorrow I will have a presentation for a new TV ad. It is still monday and I have been working twelve hours without getting out of office. All I ate was from CVS (not bad, though).

Well, it does not seem wonderful and neither do I. But I got a few nice ideas for the ad and that made me feel good. Even in a tough situation, nice ideas can help. I do not know my clients think they are nice though...

DPOTTWYCDT - Sunday Night Blue

It's already 10PM in Tokyo and I still haven't finished some works for tomorrow. I have to come up with ideas for my current project as a creative director of TVC, but always start doing late. Yes, it has never changed since I was in school. Where did I drop the idea of DPOTTWYCDT (Don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today)?

To lose is to win.

I saw an interview of a man who is one of the top art restorers in Japan. First he wanted to be a painter but could not make it. While he was looking for something (or nothing), he encountered an ancient art and was moved by its beauty. It was the time he decided to pursue the career of restoring those great works.

He sticks to quality of original materials of them with "listening to a voice of papaers (or other materials)" and even makes papers in the traditional Japanese way. He has also trained lots of young talented restoreres. Some of them have similar backgrounnds that they gave up something about art and found a new way to take advantage of their interest and sensitibity.

This idea of "once gave up, but found a place they can enjoy" seems like falling love with someone. You may not win his or her heart, but finally encounter the right one. Many people use the phrase "Never give up," but I would like to say "You just don't have to give up."

The Opening Idea

Now I have started my blog called “Excellent idea!...maybe.” So what does it mean? I love things that give me new perspectives of life and would like to call them IDEAS. It is cheap (sometimes needs a lot to come up with though…) and useful. Here I want explore beautiful ideas that hit me. Hope you enjoy.

The first one I pick up should be this: why don’t I start writing my own blog?

Hey, is it really a good idea? What a hell is Atsushi thinking? Well, I really think it is excellent since I was connected with you here. Nice to meet you!
